About HPS BIOTECH

R&D History

The NATMAX family of biostimulants is the result of work carried out for more than five years in collaboration with the National Center for Electrochemistry and Environmental Technologies (CNETE), an independent research laboratory in Canada, and the National Research Council Canada (NRCC).


The impact of these biostimulants has been measured on several microbial strains, namely:

E. coli

S. cerevisiae

Bacillus subtilis

Lactobacillus plantarum 

Bacillus amyloliquefaciens


Impacts were measured in terms of:

yields

production time

biomass

optical density


We expanded to several strains as the first set of tests carried out with NATMAX made it possible to demonstrate an impressive increase in the yield of ethanol production by the S. cerevisiae strain.

WHO WE ARE

HPS Biotech is a Canadian company founded in 2019 by Sylvain Aumais.

Sylvain initiated and gave direction to the R&D during our collaborations

Sylvain has been actively involved in fermentation for over two decades.

For over four years, Sylvain was a member of the Chair of Industrial Research in Colleges of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) in Bioprocesses and Fermentation Technologies.  The objectives of the Chair are articulated around two axes: the production of biomolecules of commercial interest using fermentation technologies and the purification of biomolecules from industrial bioprocesses.


Pierre Brault is CEO and adviser to the founder

Chartered financial analyst and lawyer with over 20 years of comprehensive experience and versatile expertise in strategy and corporate development including mergers and acquisitions at the international level and locally, having worked for various types of organizations, ranging from small companies to multinationals. Excellent knowledge of several industries: transportation, oil&gas services, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, industrial services and information technology.
